Touching and doing stimulate learning. Children want to explore. They are curious. They need to touch, to find out, and to know. We need to surround them with things to explore, wonder about, do and discover.

Simple materials - cups, sponges, stickers, rubber bands, corks, erasers, magnets, coins, marbles rocks, buttons, rice, beans, and sandpaper - can be made into activities that children want to touch, manipulate, and use.
